I bequeth to my good son in law Thomas Bulkeley of Standes, Staffordshire, Gent , to Roger Newham of Inkersall and Thomas Burley of Greenhill, Derby, Gent all my cottages, lands, tenements and hereditaments in Goldafton, Derby which are the inheritance of me the said Godfrey Froggatt. And that they should dispose of same for the best use of my son William Froggatt and I do give unto him the said William, £50. Also my lease of the Park land in Staveley and the stock that is behind my son Burley and me.
I give to my three daughters Alice Bulkeley, Katherine Newham, and Elizabeth Burley ten shillings apiece, I having already paid their husbands their full portions.
To my daughter Barbara Bright ten shillings he r portion having already been paid.
My wife to have use of all my household goods during her life and power to dispose of the great brass kettle to her son William and the bed, linen for her daughters Mary and Priscilla, to whom I give each of them £200 apiece.
And I will that my daughters Mary and Priscilla have sufficient maintenance of £8 apiece yearly, unless they marry against the wishes of their mother, brother and brothers in law.
To my daughter Ann whom I hear is married to Thomas Brilsford of Staveley forge without my knowledge against my express command £50 whenever her husband shall tender an acquittance in full for the same.
My dear wife to have moiety of one half of all my cottage, tenements and lands in Mayfield during her life for the maintenance of herself and my children.
The other half of the Moiety of the lands at Mayfield to my son John, providing he give £50 to his brother and his sisters Mary and Priscilla £200 apiece.
I will that if Mary or Priscilla, or their brother William die unmarried, their portions to be divided among the other two.
Ten shillings to have a funeral sermon preached.
Forty shillings to the poor of Staveley, Mayfield and Norton.
Wife Barbara and son John executors and sons in law Thomas Bulkeley, Roger Newham and Thomas Burley supervisers (with twenty shillings to each of them to buy a ring).
