Biography

Margaret married John Moffit (Moffat) in Kirklinton on April 12 1810. Both were single. No parents are noted. ^[1]

Margaret and John christened their first child, a daughter Mary, ten days later in Kirklinton. ^[2]

Their daughter Ann was christened in 1812. ^[3]

In 1841 Margaret was living on Old Grapes Lane, Carlisle with five of her children. ^[4]

In 1851 Margaret and children Catherine and Christopher were in Carlisle living on Old Grapes Lane. Margaret was a widow and seamstress. ^[5]

In 1861 Margaret, Catherine and Christopher were still in Carlisle. Margaret was 74. ^[6]

Margaret died in 1864 in Carlisle. ^[7]

Research Notes

There were a few Margaret Bulman christenings in Irthington around the right time for her birth. However, the most likely candidate was Margaret christened on 15 October 1786 to parents Christopher Bulman and Ann Forrester. Margaret's son was named Christopher Bulman. ^[8]
