Biography

Francis was born in 1861[1] the son of George J. Bulmer and Isabella Elizabeth McArdle. He died in 1933.[2] He is buried in the Church of England Cemetery, Casino.[3]

In 1883, Frank married Mary Ann McCabe (late Campbell) in 1883.[4] Mary Ann died in 1886. They had two children in addition to Mary Ann's children from her first marriage.

In 1892, Frank married Mary Jane Smith (late Wright) in 1892.[5] They had seven children in addition to Mary Jane's children from her first marriage.

  4. Sarah (Bulmer) Walters (1899-1952)

Together this blending of four families comprised the nine children listed above with the addition of five Campbells and four Wrights; eighteen in total.

In the Lismore Licensing Court 5 Aug 1908, the transfer of the Bexhill Hotel from George Fryer to Francis Bulmer was granted.[6] According to his obituary, the Bexhill Hotel closed four years later in 1912.

In 1933, on Francis' passing the following notice was published.

MR. F. BULMER CASINO, Wednesday.
Mr. Francis Bulmer, aged 72 years, died in the Casino District Hospital this morning. He came to Casino about eight years ago and lived with his brother Mr. George Bulmer at South Casino. Before coming to Casino. The late Mr. Bulmer lived in the Bexhill district for 42 years and was a farmer and, later, licensee of the Bexhill Hotel, closed in 1912. He is survived by a widow, three sons and three daughters. The sons are: Frederick (Murwillumbah), Ernest (Glebe), Clarence (Coraki); the daughters are Mesdames J. Bell (Moore Park, Sydney), , S. Waters (Glebe), P. O'Reilly (Eumundi, Q.). The funeral leaves for the Church of England cemetery tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock.[7]
