Sergeant Valentine Prentiss, baptized 16 March 1746 in Woodbury, Connecticut, died 04 September 1822 in China, Maine, and his wife Sarah Bump, died China, Maine in June, 1824, is honored by the Daughters of the American Revolution for service: 1) CAPT ALEXANDER,COL WIGGLESWORTH 2) ALSO UNDER COL ASA WHITCOMB^[1]

Valentine married Sarah Bump in 1772 in Connecticut. They moved to China, Maine after Valentine was discharged from the Army. ^[2]

On 27 January 1819, Sarah & Valentine Prentiss' daughter Lucinda Prentiss, a resident of Harlem (China), Maine, married Caleb Hanson of China.
