Biography

Leander H. Bundy died Thursday in his home in Oakley township within a death of his wife, whose burial occurred a week ago today. He had not been in robust health but there was no alarm because of his physical condition until the death of his wife. The shock seemed to wholly unnerve him. He was not able to attend her funeral and never rallied. He had been a resident of Macon county over 40 years. Leander H. Bundy was born Nov. 14, 1853 near Walnut Hill and the early years of his life were passed on a farm near Kinmundy. He came to Macon county about 1881. He married Martha Waggoner July 13, 1884. One son born to them died in infancy. He leaves his brother, Lemuel Bundy of Walback, Neb; half brothers, Thomas Bundy of Kinmundy and Samuel Bundy of Gillette, Wyoming; half sisters, Mrs. Gilla Hopkins of Patoka, Mrs. Mary Morgan of Shawnee, Okla. and Mrs. E.H. Phillips of Decatur; step son, James Waggoner of Oakley; niece, Miss Marie Bundy of Centralia. He was a member of North Fork Presbyterian church.
