A story was told by Paul Bundy, grandson of Thomas, that since Thomas was a veterinarian, he purchased one of the first automobiles in Marion County, which was a Model T Ford. Paul being very young at the time, and the automobile was a new invention, he would ride with his grandfather and be thrilled similar to a carnival ride because the car could go a whopping 30 miles an hour or more. When they would approach a steep uphill, Thomas would have to back up all the way to the top of the hill because the cars at that time were not equiped with a fuel pump and the gas was gravity fed to the engine, so going forward uphill the car would stall.
Dr. Bundy's veterinarian kit is in the possession of Eric Bundy.
