Levi Bunt was born on 20th November 1864 in Sutton Forest, New South Wales (Australia). He was the youngest of twelve children (13 if Sarah is included) of ex-convict John Bunt and free settler Anne Fairall. [1] Four of Levi's older siblings were married and he was an uncle to seven nieces and nephews by the time he was born; such is the way with large families. He was christened in All Saints Church of England, Sutton Forest. Levi's father passed away when Levi was 20 months of age.
Levi married Hannah Pope on 24th September 1890 in the Holy Trinity Church of England, Berrima. [2] They had eight children and 36 grandchildren.
Levi worked as a tanner. [3] His son, Albert, known as Jack, followed in Dad's footsteps. They worked together at a tannery at Mascot, in Sydney's south east.
Levi passed away on 27th February 1933 in Mascot, aged 67 years, and is buried in Botany Cemetery, New South Wales. [4]
