Per DAR, Ancestor #: A017058, COMMENTS (Overview): 1) BOTH FATHER AND SON OF THE SAME NAME DIED IN THE ARMY BEFORE 16 JUN 1780; 2) IT IS NOT CLEAR FROM THE MIL RECS WHICH ONE DIED ON 12 JUN 1778 AT VALLEY FORGE. IT IS ALSO NOT CLEAR WHICH ONE WAS THE FIFER. THE SON DIED WITHOUT ISSUE; 3) EL - SCAMMEL BURBA WAS THE SON OF NICHOLAS' FIRST WIFE, MARY REED, NOT HIS SECOND WIFE MARY X. SEE DATACF, 1/2018.
