He became a wealthy man and with his partners owned six paper-mills. The name of the firm at one time was "Crocker, Burbank & Co." He was the donor of "Burbank Hospital" in Fitchburg. There is a long account of his life in "Historic Homes and Places and Genealogical and Personal Memoirs of Worcester County." Mrs. Burbank in 1900 gave $30,000 from her personal estate for the building of a Nurses' Home in connection with the Burbank Hospital as a memorial to her daughters, Mary and Sarah, and it was at her suggestion that Mr. Burbank provided for the Hospital in his will.
