Mary Elizabeth Burbank was born 15 September 1841 in Pittsfield, Berkshire, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Abraham Burbank, Esq. and Julia Brown. ^[1]

She married Henry Albro Smith on 12 December 1865 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. He was the son of Leonard Kirby Smith and Sarah Godfrey. ^[2][3][4]
