Biography

Nathan was born 1774, probably as the second son, of Nathan Burchfield and Aberilla Wilson [1] Nathan married Anna McKinney in Burke County, North Carolina. Their known children are:

  1. Reuben Birchfield b: ABT. 1798 in Burke Co., NC
  2. Ezekiel Birchfield b: 15 JUN 1818 in Carter Co., TN

In the 1860 census Nathan (age 88) was in Yancey, North Carolina, United States.[2] He died 1863 and is buried at Birchfield Cemetery, Unicoi County, Tennessee. [3]

Samuel "Sam Smoke" Burchfield was not the son of Nathan and Anna "Annie" McKinney Burchfield - "Sam Smoke" was the son of Noah "John Noah" Burchfield.

Nathan and Anna "Annie" McKinney Burchfield did have a son named Samuel - who married Rosannah Hyatt.
