If you can put together as much information as you can on the Peterson relative you're trying to find, I would suggest posting a question on the G2G forum. Those people are amazing detectives!

Have a look at the GedCompare process and the answer on G2G. There is only one tree, consisting of sourced profiles and connections. As there are already 25 Million profiles, the first task is to find the ones that are already present, as you should never create duplicate profiles. Then you have to make sure all your people in your GedCom have appropriate sources. If that is the case, it is a lot of fun to add new profiles.
