Biography

John Burgess was born March 10, 1753 in Audley, Staffordshire, England to Samuel Burgess and Mary Lawton.

He married Catherine Bowers September 22, 1772 in Audley, Staffordshire, England.( They may have had at least 2 children Ralph and John, however, I am still researching birth of sons John & Thomas as there are baptisms recorded for sons John & Thomas to John & Mary.)

A second marriage was to Mary Cain November 13, 1784 in Audley Parish, Staffordshire, England. (Note: Mary Cain's surname at times listed as Corn). They had at least 13 children.

It is possible he had three wives and this is being researched.

He died January 22, 1810 in Audley, Staffordshire, England.
