"Lancaster ND564 took off from RAF Spils by at 22:12 hours on the night of 20/21 st April 1944, detailed to bomb railway yards at La Chapelle, France. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take off and it failed to return to base.
Six of the crew (including Thomas) were killed in the crash and RAF Flt Sgt H W Moss evaded capture.
Those who lost their lives are buried in the Clichy Northern Cemetery, France. Clichy is a town adjoining the northern boundary of Paris."
