Biography

Monroe was born November 26, 1924[1] to Henry Walton Burgess in Ringling, Jefferson County, Oklahoma[2]. Five year old Monroe Burgess is found living in Wright, Jefferson County, Oklahoma in the 1930 US Census with Henry Walton Burgess and Lela Burgess and brother Leroy.[3] At age 15, Monroe is found living in Cochran, Texas on the 1940 US Census with father, Henry Walton Burgess, mother, Lela Burgess, brothers Leroy and Harvey, along with sisters Loretta and Dorothy.[4] He passed away November 17, 2001.[5][6]
