Biography

Sarah was born in 1858 in Welton-le-Marsh, Lincolnshire.^[1] She is the daughter of John Burgess and Ellen Tutty.

She was recorded in her parent's household in Welton-le-Marsh in the 1871 Census.^[2]

Sarah was living with her two younger siblings in Sheldon, Warwickshire in 1881, and working as a schoolmistress.^[3]

In 1891 Sarah was still in Sheldon and still working as a schoolmistress, but now with just one other in her household, a 12 year old servant.^[4]

She married John Bird, a widower, on 29 November 1900 in Welton-le-Marsh.^[5]

Sarah was living in Welton-le-Marsh with her husband in both 1901^[6] and 1911.^[7]

She was buried in Welton-le-Marsh on 30 December 1941.^[8]
