William was born in 1801. He was the son of Thomas Burgh and Florinda Gardiner.
He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.).
He was the Rector at Ardboe, Ireland and at St. John's Church, Sandymount, County Dublin, Ireland.
He married Anne Copinger (daughter of Reverend John Copinger) in February 1827.
William and Anne had 11 children.
His wife Anne passed away in 1850 and he married, secondly, Janette Macartney circa 1851. They had 7 children.
One child was Maurice who became Archdeacon of Kildare and another was Hubert who took Holy Orders and lived in the Vatican.
William passed away in 1866.
