John Monroe Burgin is believed to be the son of Jesse Burgin and Mary Williams based on his location in Warren, Georgia when he was married to Winny Timmons in 1804. (His father Jesse is in this same county at that time).
John's birth location is most likely McDowell County, North Carolina where his father shows up in numerous court records until 1789 when his father witnessed a deed in Richmond County, Georgia on January 1, 1789.^[1]
