Biography

Thomas Burgin was born around 1770 to Dennis Burgin and most likely Jane Newton (no source exists to verify mother's maiden name).

The original birthdate appears to be a transcriptional error. Thomas was most likely born in 1770 per census records.

The 1810 U.S. Census has his age in the 26 to 44 column. [1]
The 1820 U.S. Census has his age in the 45 and over column. [2]
The 1830 U.S. Census has his age in the 60 to 70 column. [3]

Thomas Burgin also first appears in local records in 1791 and thus this may have been when he turned 21.

Thomas Burgin married Lucinda Deatherage on 13 May 1789 in Madison County, Kentucky. [4][5]

In 1800 Thomas Burgin is enumerated/recorded in the Kentucky, Compiled Census and Census Substitutes Index, 1810-1890 living in Madison County, Kentucky, no township listed. [6][7]
