Biography

... ... ... has French origins.

Sebastien Burgun has French origins.

Maître Verrier: hüttenmeister fondateur de la verrerie de MEISENTHAL échevin d' (Master Glass Maker and a founder of the Meisenthal Glass Works)

Sebastian was one of the founders and the "hüttenmeister" (director of the glass works) for Meisenthal. His parents were Denis Burgun and his first wife whosename is not known . His stepmother was from the Betz family were well known glass workers from Rosteig. He married into the Stenger line of glassmakers when he married Anne Christine Stenger.

According to GenVerre they had 5 sons whose first name were all Jean (also seen as Johan, Johannes, and Hans). They were known by their second names of:

Georges born about 1680 died before 1690

::Jacques (Jacob) born about 1684 (June Smythe has Jacob Nicolas married 1728) , ::Martin born about 1686 (June Smythe has death in 1756 and marriage 1720) ::Georges after first one died born before 1690 (June Smythe has him married 1724 she only has one Georges) ::Nicholas born about 1693 (June Smythe has one born 1709 died 1780 married 1733 but she has a second one married 1720 with no birth or death date)

According to June Smythe Research they had 13 children (see attached research page scan) GenVerre does not mention sons:

Adam 1712
Jean 1715 note says Schenathal with Adam is that Schoenthal in Switzerland or Bavaria? There is also one according to Wikipedia directly at the Northeast exit of the village of Althorn called Shoenthal meaning beautiful valley. Althorn is an ancient commune by Goetzenbruck. So that makes the most sense I think.
Andreas 1722-1769 note that this child is not possible as Sebastian died in 1719
Etienne 1725-1781 note that this child is not possible as Sebastian died in 1719

or daughters:

Anne Christine 1695-1779
Anna Maria

::Barbe 1702

Marie 1715-1789

More research to do but a start!
