Hazel was born in 1933. Hazel was the child of George Burk and Lily Long. Hazel passed away on January 31, 2012.[1] Mrs. Hazel Burk Burt, 78, of Fort Payne passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at her home. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Payne where she attended the Deborah Sunday School class. She also sang with the JoyBelles.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, 2 February, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Glenwood Cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday, February 2, from 4 until 8 p.m.
She was survived by her husband of 61 years Roy G. Burt, sons and daughters-in-law Rodney and Debra Burt, Rickey and Sharon Burt, and son Kevin Burt, brothers Warren Burk, Jim Burk, and George Burk, sisters Ann Lindauer and Faye Sparks, grandchildren Josh and Holly Burt, Jason and Leah Traylor, and Ashley and Dally Howell, great-grandchildren Kensey, Andrew, Addison, Lucas, Emma Grace, and Griffin. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Lillie Burk, brothers Lee and Ronald Burk, and sisters Beryl Moss, Betty Burgess, and Shirley Carlton.[2]
