Biography
Oral history of Othna Ann Murphy (Mama Hammond): Her mother, Amanda, died when Curtis was 1 week old (abt. 1900.) She remembers her mother fixing her hair in plaits. Mama H. had a dress with red dots; her mother gave it away, and she cried for a week.
Amanda was born in 1894. She passed away in 1902.
