"Obituary." The Carcoar Chronicle (NSW : 1878 - 1943) 4 September 1936 Obituary. LATE JANE ELIZABETH MOORE. The death of Mrs. Jane Elizabeth Moore, aged 88 years, occurred at her residence at "Grubbenbung," Garland, on Saturday last. The deceased lady had only been ailing for a few days prior to her death and only a few days before she visited Carcoar, and was then in her usual bright and happy spirit. The late Mrs. Moore was one of the very old residents of these parts and was always called Granny Moore".In the early days she did wonderful work in bush nursing and nursed many a patient back to health. This was in the days when no such thing as a maternity hospital or even a private maternity nurse was obtainable, and many of the old families now speak of her in the kindest manner for her care and attention to their homes in the case of sickness and trouble. She leaves behind her 5 children — four being sons — Will, Granville ; Jack, Wollongong ; James, Carcoar ; Paul, Cowra ; and one daughter (Jane), Mrs. Flynn, Junction Reefs. Her family tree being responsible for five children, 32 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. The funeral, which was largely attended, took place at Lyndhurst on Monday, and her remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery at that town. The Very Rev. P. Casey, P.P., officiating at the graveside.
