Ancestry records show Peter Burke as having been born in 1810, this corresponds well with his age in various census records.
No idea how he ended up in Wilmington, Delaware as this was not a regular port of entry for immigrants to the US.
There is a Peter Burke in the 1830 Census but the age doesn't match up, which could be an error on the part of the census taker.
The 1840 Census lists Peter Burke as living with a family of 4 - one male child under 5 (assume Sebastian?) and one female between 5 and 10 (Maryann?). And one adult female, assumed to be Frances.
In the 1850 Census (the first one to list all the members of the household) Peter Burke is living with her wife Frances, son John (8) and daughter Luisa (17) who would have been Frances and Bernard Fischler's daughter.
In the 1860 Census, Peter Burke is living in Wilmington with Frances Burke, John Burke and several unrelated persons.
There are no further records of Peter, so it is assumed he died somewhere between 1860 and 1870, Frances is recorded as living in Philadelphia in 1870 without Peter.
