Note: Quoted: "Spelling of Burk or Burke The spelling "Burk" appears to be the most correct form for James Burk, since both his 1783 will and 1730 Quaker marriage records spelled it "Burk." Other original references reinforce this spelling. At this time, I do not know how, when, or if the spelling became "Burke," i.e. Burkes Garden.
