Andrew died of stomach cancer. My wife recalls being told that this was when the Mayo brothers were practicing medicine at the clinic. Mama took Andrew all the way to Rochester, Minnesota to find out what was wrong. The clinic was beginning to try pig stomach transplants, but not on Andrew. He died, and Mama brought his body home by train to Wetumka, and buried him at Wetumka Cemetery. She was only 38 and raised 7 children by herself.
