Biography

Robert was a Quartermaster Second Class in the US Navy (an enlisted member in charge of navigation and the maintenance, correction, and preparation of nautical charts) serving aboard the USS Maine in 1898. He was killed 15 Feb 1898 when the ship exploded in the Harbor of Havana, Cuba during the USS Maine Disaster. Robert is buried at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia in Section 24/Maine.
