Biography
Elijah was born on February 25, 1860 in Meade County, Kentucky to Rachel Ann (Brown) Burkhart. He had 7 siblings: DeWitt Clinton Burkhart, George W. Burkhart, Walter Burkhart, John William Burkhart, Emma Dora (Burkhart) Seeger, Emmett Burkhart, and Jessie Burkhart. He married Rebecca Todd McMillen. They had a daughter, Alma E. (Burkhart) Florea. He passed away on February 9, 1930 in Harrison Township, Scotland County, Missouri at age 69. He was buried in Pauline Cemetery in Rutledge, Missouri.
