Edwin Burkinshaw 's father John survived but his brothers George, aged 10 and Joseph, aged 7, were killed in the Huskar Moorend Pit Coal Mine Inundation on 4-Jul-1838
Edwin was born in Silkstone, Yorkshire, England on 23 March 1834, the son of John Burkinshaw and Hannah Gledhill and baptised on 18 May 1834 at Silkstone with Stainborough All Saints Parish Church [1].
