OBITUARY
Mrs. G. Dent
Mrs. Mary Ann Dent, wife of Mr. George Dent, of Orange Trees, (Coffs Harbour, passed away peacefully at her home during last Thursday night at the age ot 93 years. Her husband is still living at 96 years.
Deceased had practically no illness. Within the past several months she had shown the effects of old age lapsing occasionally into temporary unconsciousness. But she did not suffer any pain. She passed away peacefully in her sleep.
She was born at Milton, on the South Coast, and was married in Sydney ney about 74 years ago. With her husband she spent much of her life in the West of New South Wales and in parts of Queensland. Her husband was a great horseman, who was engaged much of his time amongst stock, and in his younger days used to ride racehorses at country meet ings. He also followed mining for some years. Mr. and Mrs. Dent were in Sydney at the time the Dunbar was wrecked outside the Heads, on k her way from England with a large number of passengers.
They came to Coffs Harbour about 25 years ago and, have resided since on the property purchased by them at Orange Trees. Mr. Dent still retains his faculties, despite his great age.
Besides the husband, a family of seven sons and two daughters survive. The sons are Messrs. George (Graf ton), Richard (Atherton, Queensland) Frank (Nyngan), Thomas (Coffs Harbour), James (Sydney) and Bert (Turramurra). Mesdames H. Williams (Coffs Harbour) aud W. Grady (Sydney) are the daughters.
The funeral left Mr. C. H Evering ham's funeral parlors on Saturday morning for the Church of England portion of Coffs Harbour Cemetery, Rev. L. C. Ferris conducted the ser vice and Mr. Everingham carried out the funeral arrangements.
