DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Roland by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Roland:

It has been suggested by other researchers that Roland Burks died in 1831, in Tennessee, as a child.

I have not been able to find a record of his death. However, I have autosomal dna marches to 50 descendants of his brother, John Wesley Burks Jr. and 10 autosomal dna matches to his sister, Louisa (Burks) Kizziar through Ancestry.

The rest of his family, mother, Temperance (Moore) Burks, Forbes, step-father, Alexander Forbes, sister, Louisa (Burks) Kizziar, John Wesley Burks Jr, Sarah (Forbes) Sutton, Alford Forbes, all migrated to Ellis County Texas, and there are MANY records to substantiate that move. There are no records of Roland Burks in Texas with them. I have ZERO matches to anyone descending from Roland Burk. This leads me to believe this Roland Burks died without descendants. If you believe YOU are a descendant of Roland Burks, oldest son of Temperance (Moore) Burks and John Wesley Burks, PLEASE contact me! P Greer-1224 wikitree
