George was born in Bayham Township, south of London, Ontario.[1] When he was young, his parents moved to Michigan, but by the time that he married Eliza Kimmerly in Romeo, Michigan in 1870, he had returned to live in Ontario.[2]
He died in 1906 from "obstructive jaundice." He was a mail carrier at the time of his death.[3]
