Evelyn Louise Burman was born on 8 November 1860 in Dane County Wisconsin. Her parents were William Theodore Burman and Eliza L. Russel. When she was a child her family moved to a farm fourteen miles southeast of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. They lived one year mostly during 1878 in Appleton, Minnesota. While they were there, her father was able to acquire a homestead in South Dakota seven miles southwest of Milbank.
After Evelyn's marriage at Milbank to Francis Broadbent on 17 March 1879 at Milbank,, their homestead was eight miles northwest of Appleton, Minnesota. They moved into Appleton in 1901 where Frank delivered mail to a rural route.[1]
She passed away on 29 August 1963 being over 100 years of age. She was buried at Appleton Cemetery, Appleton, Swift, Minnesota.[2]
