Ann was born about 1844 in Eastrington, Yorkshire, England, where she lived with her parents, William Bourne and Ann Stephenson.[1]
At the time of the 1861 census Annie worked as a domestic servant for the Walker family in Leeds, Yorkshire.[2]
She married William Drake in 1866 in Rotherham, Yorkshire;[3][4] by 1871 the family lived in Sheffield, Yorkshire. William was a smith.[5] The Drakes lived in Brightside, Yorkshire, in 1881.[6]
