BURNARD.— On the 17th March, at Mannum (accidently drowned), Leonard Charles W., beloved husband of Elma M. Burnard, and loving father of Leslie, aged 31 years. [7]

BURNARD. —On the 17th March, at Mannum (accidentally drowned), Leonard Charles W., beloved eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Burnard, 64, Scott street, Parkside, aged 31 years, and loving brother of Walter, Jack, Eva, Bessie, and Bert. Loved by all. [8]

Leonard Charles Burnard, aged 31, a Royal Automobile Association Guide, was drowned while bathing in the River Murray near Mannum yesterday. With three others he went on a fishing trip four miles north of Mannum. and had been living at a camp on the bank of the river. After luncheon he and a companion went for a bathe in; the river, and Burnard's friend found the missing body in 20 ft. of water. Burnard, who lived at Glynde road, Newstead, left a widow and one child. Guide Burnard relieved Mr. U. R. Mazzoral at Mount Gambier about four years ago and was thus fairly well known to local people. He also spent his honeymoon in Mt. Gambier, and was a cousin of Dr. R. G. Burnard, formerly of Mount Gambier. [9]
