Biography
Alexander was the eldest son of James Burnett, of Lagavin and Mondobbo, and Elizabeth Irvine, daughter of Robert Irvine of Monboddo.[1]
He married, 1686, his cousin, Margaret Burnett, daughter of Sir Alexander Burnett of Leys, 2nd Baronet.[2]
He died in the lifetime of his father. After his death Margaret married Dr. Andrew Burnett (of the family of Leys).
They had one child that survived to adulthood:
- James Burnett, who succeeds.
