Harriett was born in 1835. [1] She came to NZ with her mother in 1841, her father having come out earlier on the Whitby. She married John Lyford in 1853 [2] She passed away in 1901 age 66[3] and is buried in Kaikoura [4]

Harriet Burnett was born on 11 Jul 1835 in Borden, Kent, England to parents Richard Burnett and Elizabeth Ann Burnett. She was christened on 27 Sep 1836 in the Wesleyan Church, Sittingbourne, Kent, England.[5]
She immigrated to New Zealand in Nov 1841 with her father. Her mother had died in 1838, and her brother George died on the voyage from England to New Zealand on 11 Nov 1841.
She married John Lyford on 16 Mar 1853 in Happy Valley, Nelson, New Zealand.[6]
She died on 4 Oct 1901 in Kaikoura, Marlborough, new Zealand, and was buried on 6 Oct 1901 in the Kaikoura Public Cemetery, Marlborough, New Zealand.[7]
