Biography

James was born in 1857. He was the son of Jeremiah Burnett and Abigail Wooten. He passed away in 1926. The Madison County Record - The Mountain Air Huntsville & Saint Paul, AR 9 Jan 1926

Pettigrew - J. K. P. Burnett, living about four miles north of here was reported very sick Thursday and not expected to survive many days unless his condition improves.

Pettigrew - J. K. P. Burnett, aged about 70 years, died Monday afternoon at his home about 4 miles north of here. Interment was made the following day at the Cove cemetery. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wm. Eveans and attended by a large crowd of sorrowing friends and relatives. He is survived by his wife and eight children and several grandchildren. His children were all present at his death. Mr. Burnett filled a position in the Arkansas Legislature for several years and was a prominent local lawyer, farmer and a pioneer of this county.
