Biography

From http://www.lawrencefamhis.com[1]:

"Thomas Templeton Wilson was born circa 1835 in Tennessee. He married Nancy Jane Burnett, daughter of Joseph V. Burnett and Sarah Brown, circa 5 August 1853. Date of marriage is in doubt. Marriage bond issued 30 july 1853. Thomas Templeton Wilson was divorced from Nancy. Thomas had taken another wife while in Kentucky while still married to Nancy. The divorce was resolved in Nancy's favor restoring her maiden name."

Marriage

Marriage Certificate[2]

Name: Thomas T Willson
Event Type: Marriage
Event Date: 05 Jul 1853
Event Place: Knox, Tennessee, United States
Gender: Male
Spouse's Name: Nancy J Burnett
Spouse's Gender: Female
Page: 24

From the scanned document, there is a note partially obscured but here's what I think it says: "I certify that I executed the right of marriage between Thomas T Wilson and Nancy J Burnett this 5 day of July 1853. Jefferson Griffin, J.O.K.C."

However, the date by their names says July 30. I'm not totally sure what the official marriage date is but I think July 5 works best?

Maggie N,

I know you did an update to the name and have the paperwork for a marriage to Thomas T Wilson, but how could she have married him when she was still married to Mark Martin Forsythe? They were married until his death in 1865. I know this information is on ancestry but something just seems off, is it possible that this is another Nancy? She was in Bentonville AR during this time frame and would have been married for only two years to Mark Martin and had a son in 1854 (Charles Toliver "Charley" Forsyth) . I agree that records do match for all other aspects of her biography, this marriage is the big question.

The only thing I am not sure is correct is the marriage to the Wilson person. She was married to Mark Martin Forsythe until his death in 1865. Clearly she could have married after that date, I will try to do some more research for her.
Burnett-7473 and Burnett-2137 appear to represent the same person because: clear duplicates
