1870 - living in DeKalb County, Alabama, with his parents and brother Benjamin. Age 10; attended school; listed at Joshua. In 1870, Samuel (9) [2]

On November 18, 1877, Samuel married (Mary) Dorah Prickett in DeKalb County.[3]

In 1880, Samuel J Burnes (20), was a married head of household, Farmer, in Albertville, Marshall, Alabama, United States. [4]

He died, at the age of 37, on April 6, 1898 in Albertville, Alabama. He is buried at the Old Albertville Cemetery, Albertville, Marshall County, Alabama.[5]
