Biography
Andrew Jackson Burns was born in 1790 in Wilkes, North Carolina, United States, son of William Burns (1757–1845) and Nancy Chandler (1761–1808).[1]
Andrew and Nancy Baker were married in 1822 in Clay County, Kentucky.[2] Nancy was born on 12 Jan 1803 in Cortland, Madison, Kentucky, USA. She was the daughter of Robert Julius Baker and Elizabeth (Hammond) Baker.
Their known children were:
- Hugh L. Burns (1823–1879)
- Perry Baker Burns (1828–1884)
- Robert Cody Burns (1832–1897)
- Mariah Marian Burns (1835–1856)
- Easter Marie Burns (1836–1900) [uncertain].
- Andrew Burns (1844–1915)
In the 1850 census Andrew was in Clay, Kentucky. He was a farmer with either $2,000 [ or $7,000] worth of real estate. His wife had passed the previous year. His son Granville lives next door with his family.[3]
