Augusta Burns was born in Arkansas.
Augusta Burns was a Californian.
Augusta E. Burns was born on May 22, 1912 in Ozark, Franklin County, Arkansas. His father was Willis J. Burns, and his mother was Lelia Malcena Baker.[1]
The same year Augusta was born his father died, so he never got to know him. In 1920, he lived in Hogan Township, Franklin County, Arkansas. His mother and grandparents lived there.[2]
Augusta enlisted in the Army on November 22, 1934 as a private. He was assigned to the 11th Calvary Regiment.[3] He died while in the Army of chronic glomerulonephritis (kidney disease) on September 4, 1937 in San Francisco, California.[4][5][6] He was buried at Burnett Cemetery in Altus, Franklin County, Arkansas.[1]
