Richard was born in 1932. He was the son of Marion Burnside and Harriet Newman. He passed away in 2018.

Dick was born August 6, 1932 in Columbia, SC, son of the late Marion T. Burnside and Harriett Newman Burnside. He served in the US Army and graduated from Sewanee Military Academy and USC, where he was a member of SAE fraternity. He was the owner of Burnside Dodge and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Harriett "Happy" Richmond (Ken).
