John Burnside was born in March 21,1847 in Lewis County, Virginia, United States. He was the son of John Burnside and Mary Minter. In 1869 Lewis County, he married Elizabeth Snyder, daughter of Noah Snyder and Elizabeth Mowery Snyder. He passed away May 2, 1877 at Freemans Creek in Lewis County.
