Sophia was born in 1825.
The four Burnside sisters, Jane, Ellen, Matilda and Sophia left their home in Newton Stewart, Co, Tyrone Ireland. Both parents were dead.
26 Nov 1840 They boarded the Glenswilly at Plymouth[1]
11 Mar 1841 The Glenswilly, with the sisters and 305 other bounty Immigrants sailed thru The Heads and into Sydney Harbour[2]
May 1908 She passed away. The Daily Telegraph reports:
Mrs. Sowden, relict of the late Samuel Sowden, of Mereyula, died yesterday morning, in her 82nd year. Deceased had been confined to her bed for the past three years and a half. She leaves a grown-up family of four sons and two daughters.[3]
