Biography

  • Nathaniel Burr, son of Jehu Burr, was born about 1640 probably in Springfield. He was made freeman in 1664 in Fairfield, Connecticut.[1]
  • He married Sarah Ward, daughter of Andrew Ward and sister of Mary, wife of Jehue probably about 1660.[1]
  • He married second Ann Laborie, widow of Rev. Samuel Wakeman, and daughter of Dr. James Laboris about Oct. 1698.[1]
  • Nathaniel died 26 Feb. 1712.[1]

I am confused...Did Nathaniel Burr marry Ann Laborie Wakeman as his second wife, or Hannah Goodyear Wakeman. Both are listed as his second wife in different parts of the profile.

These data show Sara Warde Burr dying on the same date as spouse Nathaniel Burr, I.e. 26 Feb 1712. They also show Nathaniel m2 widow Hannah Wakeman in 1698, 14 years before the death of wife 1. Perhaps it is more likely that Sarah died not in 1712, but rather prior to 1698?
