Alfred Stuart Burr was born in 1901 in Tonbridge, Kent, England.[1] He was the son of Alfred Henry Burr and Harriett Kate Latter.
He immigrated to New Zealand about 1908 with his family. [2]
He served as a Private in the New Zealand Machine Gun Battalion during World War II and died on 22 Jul 1942 in El Alamein, Egypt.[3] He was buried in the El Alamein War Cemetery. [4][5]
