Research Note

  • RE: wife's last name. Both Lines and Todd[4] name spouse Sarah with no surname, no birth date, and no marriage date given.
  • Confused Genealogy. This profile originally showed [[Root-348|Mary Root] as John's wife; as stated herein, John's wife was actually named Sarah, with no LNAB. Further, the profile also showed son named John Burr (Burr-262), married to Tabitha Loomis. In actuality, Burr-262 is the grandson of the John Burr of this profile. The missing link is also named John Burr, and there was no profile for him. It has now been created for: [[Burr-1655|John Burr Jr.]. "Junior" is used because he is so referred to as the father in the baptism record of Burr-262.
  1. Mary Root is actually the wife of John Jr,
  2. The omission of Burr-, is possibly due to the confused profile of family of John Burr as set forth in Todd. In it, he conflates the children of John Burr Sr. and John Burr Jr. into one set of siblings. He omits the real John Burr Jr, and names John the grandson as John Jr.

These errors are corrected in the genealogy set out in Lines, referred to herein.

Please correct typo/transcription error: 4th child listed under bio should be spelled "Noahdiah" which was a favorite Biblical name used by the Burrs. See Charles Burr Todd source where it's spelled correctly. (This seems to be the source of all the info included about children of John and Sarah; there's actually more crammed in on daughters on p. 282 and the 4th generation males on p. 285).
