Joshua was born in 1741 at Rehoboth in the Province of Massachusetts Bay, the son of David Burr and Sarah Turner.[1]
Joshua married Elizabeth Thayer at Providence, Rhode Island in 1770.[2]
Joshua died in 1824 at Providence.[3]

He appears again in 1776 and then in 1782 in the censuses at Providence. In 1782, the household shows one boy and two girls under 16 years old, so it would seem he had several children.
