Biography

When Butler Burrell was born on November 30, 1826, in Macon, North Carolina, his father, Mark, was 20 and his mother, Hulda, was 21. He married Malinda C. Hooper on January 2, 1848, in Union, Georgia. They had nine children during their marriage. He died on July 3, 1863, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, at the age of 36. Butler Burrell was a member of CO "F" 1 SC CAV. He was killed in Gettysburg, PA. On 3 July 1863. His grave is unmarked.
